She might have only been on the show for a few days, but momentum is gathering on the prediction that Maura Higgins could cause an upset by winning I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out of Here.

A few ITV viewers were left scratching their heads when ex Love Island star Maura's name wasn't on the confirmed line-up for the new series, with her then missing from the launch episode on November 17. The 33-year-old then appeared to rule herself out of the show, by jetting off to party in Las Vegas.

However, after all of the speculation linking her and Rev Richard Coles to I'm A Celebrity, the duo were introduced as late arrivals on Thursday night's show, before being forced to lie to their co-stares in main camp, by telling them they were 'roughing it' in their Jungle Junkyard home, when the truth was in fact, the exact opposite.

After Coleen Rooney made her suspicions known that Maura and Richard could be 'faking,' their secret mission was finally exposed to everyone on Saturday night, but betting experts FruitySlots.com don't think Maura's deceit will count against her with viewers at home, as they have made her their new favourite to win.

A supercomputer has given Maura a 29% chance of winning, with the 6/1 shot, ahead of Danny Jones in their rankings, with Loose Women's Jane Moore at the bottom of the pile, having been given just a 4% chance at victory Down Under.

Talking up Maura as a potential winner, a spokesperson for FruitySlots.com said: “Over the years, I’m A Celebrity and reality stars have been a perfect match, with Made in Chelsea's Sam Thompson recently winning the jungle crown. Now, our Supercomputer suggests that a former Love Island star might be next in line.

“Maura Higgins, already a fan favorite from Love Island, is projected to go far this season. But with strong competition from McFly’s Danny Jones and TikTok sensation GK Barry, it’s no easy journey ahead. As the celebrities still face two more weeks of camp life and notorious Bushtucker Trials, the race is wide open. Only time will tell who has the resilience and determination to be crowned King or Queen of the Jungle this season."
