I'm A Celeb's Coleen Rooney addresses 'draining' experience during Wagatha Christie ordeal

Coleen Rooney has opened up about her 'worst nightmare' during the well-documented Wagatha Christie row with Rebekah Vardy.

In the episode of I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here! airing tonight (November 18), the 38 year old WAG spoke candidly about the undercover operation that led to her being dubbed 'Wagatha Christie', describing the experience as "draining."

The fallout between the WAGs occurred after Coleen revealed she had posted 'false' stories on her private Instagram account to identify who was leaking information about her to the media.

While relaxing by the creek with Coleen, Dean McCullough and Jane Moore, influencer GK Barry questioned Coleen about whether she felt afraid when she made the tweet public.

Coleen replied: "No because I just didn’t think it would have the impact it did, because I was just that sick and tired of it, it was draining."

The post led to a libel case, Vardy V Rooney, which was widely covered by the press. The battle was later dramatised in Channel 4 feature Vardy v Rooney: A Courtroom Drama and covered in several documentaries on BBC, Discovery+ and Disney+.

The wife of England legend and Plymouth boss Wayne Rooney continued: “That was my worst nightmare, to go to court.

"I felt like it was like putting on a show for the whole world."

Ahead of entering the jungle, Coleen expressed that she wants to move on from the trial and share the real "Coleen from Liverpool" with viewers.

In a conversation with The Mirror, she reflected: "That's a place that I've been, I've dealt with it. In my life now, I'm just moving forward and not looking back.

"That's something I've done my whole life, dealt with things, moved forward at the time and got on. There are more important things to think about with the family and kids."

"I think I'd rather just be known as Coleen from Liverpool. Not from any other type of place. It's just me, as I always have been. So hopefully people just think she's that Scouser that she's always been."

I'm A Celebrity airs nightly at 9pm on ITV1 and ITVX, followed by I'm A Celebrity: Unpacked on ITV2 after the main programme.
