I'm A Celeb's Coleen Rooney shares Wayne's tattoo blunder during early romance

I'm A Celebrity star Coleen Rooney shared memories of dating her now-husband Wayne Rooney - including a tattoo blunder.

The hit ITV reality series returned this week with ten famous faces entering the Australian jungle including Strictly's Oti Mabuse, BBC Radio 1 presenter Dean McCullough, Coronation Street actor Alan Halsall and McFly singer Danny Jones.

As the stars have been settling in, they have had several heart-to-heart conversations with each other. Former boxer Barry McGuigan has opened up about the tragic death of his daughter Danika and Coleen talked about the infamous 'WAGatha Christie' dispute.

The campmates gathered as Coleen spoke about the early days of her romance with the former England and Manchester United star during tonight's episode (November 19).

Recalling the beginnings of their romance, she said: "I was still at school when he was playing for Everton.

"I used to walk out and all the girls were going, ‘Whose is that car there?’ And he was in a Bentley [...] and there’s Wayne in the passenger seat with his arm out and one of the [other] players like Thomas Gravesen.”

Wayne made his professional debut at Everton when he was just 16 years old before joining Manchester United, where he had a record-breaking career for club and country. The football legend is currently manager of Championship club Plymouth Argyle.

She continued: “I just used to get embarrassed” and clarified that the Bentley wasn’t Wayne’s car: “He just used to get a lift home.”

The famous WAG told her campmates about a permanent surprise she received from Wayne when the couple were teenagers.

She shared Wayne's cousin called her asking if she spells her name with one or two Ls. When she questioned why he needed to know that, he simply replied: “I’m just with our Wayne in town, he’s getting a tattoo.”

Following the call, Coleen recalled going to a friend's 18th birthday party, where she saw Wayne showing everyone his arm.

She soon discovered: "He’d got my name tattooed on him! At 17!”

The TV personality previously confessed that their relationship wasn’t love at first sight, admitting that her husband "fought" to get a date with her.

Speaking to fellow campmates Oti Mabuse, GK Barry and Jane Moore, she said: "He fought to get me, yeah. I waited until I’d done my GCSEs and then I went on a date. I was pretty good at school.”
