I'm A Celeb's Dean slammed as 'disrespectful' by Coronation Street star
I'm A Celebrity star Dean McCullough has been slammed as disrespectful following his confronation with soap actor Alan Halsall. The pair appeared to clash after Alan, who plays Tyrone Dobbs in Coronation Street had to wake Dean to carry out his duties of fetching new logs for camp.
When a sleepy Dean, who hails from Newtownards, didn't respond, Alan said: “You don’t fancy it? No?” And walked away to help Jane himself, despite it going against camp rules.
But when Radio 1 host Dean appeared moments later he explained to Alan that he needed to be given a minute to adjust his contact lenses.

Dean abruptly told him:“Listen to me. If you’re gonna wake me up, you need to give me a minute, alright?
"It takes a couple of minutes for my contact lenses to get back working again, alright, so you don’t need to turn around to me and say ‘do you not fancy it?’ ok? And then turn around and walk away.”
Alan defended himself saying he was trying to wake him up gently as possible as wasn't trying to be rude.
Appearing on ITV's Lorraine on Monday, Alan's Corrie co-star Andy Whyment who plays Kirk in the soap slammed Dean as disrespectful in his manner towards Alan.
Andy said: "It was the fact that when Alan was on the floor Dean's basically on top of him, hand on his shoulder, pointing in his face saying 'no you listen to me.'
"The reason that got me is when he was in the Bush Telegraph and said 'I was asleep with wee Tyrone from Coronation Street standing over me.
"I just thought that was a bit disrespectful - I mean Alan's a 42-year-old man - the way Dean was speaking to him was like he was speaking to him like a child.
"I just thought it was a bit disrespectful.
"On the other hand it gave Alan the chance to show what a really great man he is, so I'm really glad everyone saw that."
Andy, who was runner-up on the show in 2019, also reveals the one piece of advice he gave to Alan before entering the jungle.
Revealing the truth behind Alan’s secret signal, Andy said: “The only time you know when the camera is on you is when Ant and Dec are saying who’s doing the trial. So every time they say Alan, he always goes like that [makes heart shape with hands] which is just a sign to Sienna [his daughter].
He continued: “Sienna is the only thing that really really gets him emotional and I know he’s really missing her so that’s why every time they say ‘Alan, it’s not you’, he’s doing that as a sign so that Sienna knows that he’s thinking of her.”
Andy told Lorraine how the one piece of advice he gave to Alan before entering the jungle was to “try and get a bed” as he explained: “For me, sleeping in a hammock was so tough. I really struggled with it.”
