A Leicester laser tag venue is set to reopen this week after a revamp. The former Laser Force venue, in Devonshire Road, near Abbey Park, has been taken on by Laser Quest.

The playing area and laser tag equipment have been upgraded, the interior has been refurbished and two new “dedicated party rooms” have been created, a spokeswoman for the new owners said. New challenges and a “more flexible booking policy” have also been introduced, she added.

In addition to standard game options, a range of birthday party, corporate team building and private hire packages will be available, said the spokeswoman. Laser Quest claimed its offering was the “most immersive laser tag experience” in the UK.

The company said: “We’re delighted to be bringing the Laser Quest brand to Leicester. Participants will really feel like they’re stepping into a video game as the Laser Quest arena that we have created really pits teams against each other in a galactic-style environment.”

The venue is set to open on Friday, October 11. Children older than six can take part in activities there.

During term time, it will be open from 4pm to 9pm Monday to Friday, and 10am to 9pm on Saturday and Sunday. During school and bank holidays, it will be open from 10am to 9pm from Monday to Sunday.

Visitors can take advantage of 10 per cent off all bookings made before the end of October to mark the opening, the spokeswoman said. To activate the offer, use the code OPEN10 when booking online, she added.
