We can all recall childhood family holidays or post-exam staycations with friends at one of the country's many holiday parks. Yet, these resorts often fare poorly in the court of public opinion.

Many holiday parks boast a host of facilities virtually on your doorstep and there would be no need to venture beyond the confines of the park. Nonetheless, factors like cleanliness standards or an uninspiring activities roster can sometimes leave us rather disappointed.

Recently, consumer watchdog Which? conducted research to rank UK holiday parks based on multiple parameters such as cleanliness; quality and variety of food and drink; list of activities/facilities and importantly, value for money.

One particular resort won considerable praise, receiving commendation for being "impeccable" and having a "vibrant" atmosphere. Potters Resorts topped the Which? list and was described as an "upscale affair with absolutely everything included".

Potters operates two five-star resorts: Five Lakes nestled within the countryside of Essex, and Hopton-on-Sea positioned along the coast of Norfolk, reports the Express.

Even though Potters' rates are substantially higher compared to rivals like Pontins (which placed last on the list with a cost of £43 per person per night), with costs as steep as £110 pppn, guests are treated to a wide range of engaging options. For the activity inclined, these include rifle shooting using compressed air guns, archery lessons, rowing outings on the boating lake, and indoor fitness sessions.

Remember, Potters Resorts features all-inclusive deals, which means there will be zero pressure on your wallet for food and drinks during your stay. Potters Resorts Hopton-on-Sea boasts an impressive 4.5-star rating on Tripadvisor.

One visitor said: "Wow why haven't I been here before? This place has it all in abundance. Great all-inclusive food and drink. Activities all day long and high-class evening shows. We liked it so much we booked again for next year before we left."

Another guest praised the warm reception, they said: "Welcome was a great start to our reception was very welcoming. The rooms were just perfect very clean and lovely decorated. Had everything you ever wanted in a room. The full entertainment program was the best I have ever seen also the show every night where better than a London show well done everyone."

A particularly thrilled first-timer added: "Our first visit! WOW. What a fab time we had. Never stopped laughing. The entertainment team were all outstanding but mention has to go to Jack - there are no words other than 'how much'."

And yet another satisfied customer said: "Went with my friend June 17, second time we have been, food outstanding bungalow and good value, the entertainment was great, lots to do at the resort."
