Impressive Microburst Strikes Gas Station in Texas
Severe weather pushed through north Texas on July 20, as the National Weather Service forecast thunderstorms, winds up to 65 mph, and “quarter-sized” hail.
Storm chaser Alex Diaz, who recorded this video, said an afternoon thunderstorm brought along “strong, gusty winds from a sudden microburst.”
This video shows the moment a former gas station in Lindsay, Texas, is pummeled by heavy winds and rain.
“Sudden torrents of hurricane force gusts brought visibility to near zero at times inside these pockets of wind insanity,” Diaz wrote in a caption.
The National Weather Service said a microburst event was possible in the area on July 20, just about an hour before this video was taken. Credit: Alexander Diaz via Storyful
