IMS Ibiza 2019: The best events and club nights at the International Music Summit

The club scene in London may be noticeably quieter this week as the industry flocks to Ibiza for the International Music Summit (IMS). With attendees from all over the world, it marks the start of the Ibiza season. There's a lot going on until May 26 — here's what not to miss.

Those heading to IMS will have access to clubs Pacha, Heart, Amnesia and Cova Santa. Highlights include Elrow, Erick Morillo and, perhaps most excitingly, Dixon’s Transmoderna party at Pacha. The heavyweight line-up this for this 20-week residency will feature Solomon, Roisin Murphy, Virgil Abloh, Honey Dijon, Âme and more.

Elsewhere, there will be three days of talks and networking activities, as well as a wellness and performance retreat with free daily yoga sessions on the roof of the Hard Rock Hotel.

Boiler Room, meanwhile, returns to Ibiza for the IMS opening party at Pacha, with a line-up featuring IDA, Karima F, HAAi, Nastia B2B Daria Kolosova and John Talabot.

HAAi takes an eclectic mix of worldly sounds to a fantastical level, while Nastia has been smashing the techno scene. John Talabot is set to dominate this summer, with other bookings at Field Day, Nova Batida, Dekmantel and beyond.

Sven Väth will be looking back on 20 years of Cocoon, Jax Jones will deliver a production masterclass and Orca Sound Project will give a talk on how the music industry can change to ensure a more environmentally friendly future — and afterwards they’ll be joining Blond:ish for a beach clean at Playa d’en Bossa. If you want to get involved with that, meet at the Hard Rock Hotel beach bar at 6pm on Thursday.

In a particularly poignant event, Pete Tong will talk to Klas Bergling about the tragic loss of his son Tim, also known as Avicii. They will discuss the recognition of mental health issues in the industry alongside rapper and campaigner Professor Green, DJ and producer Luciano, shesaid.so member and advocate Clare Scivier, and musician Madame Ghandi.

Closing IMS will be a party in Dalt Vila, amid the backdrop of a 2,500-year-old fort and the Balearic coastline. Adam Beyer, Charlotte de Witte, Ida Engberg and Pete Tong are among the line-up for a fitting end to the week.
