This is the incredible moment an adorable puppy is rescued unscathed from the wreckage of a three-vehicle pile-up.

The Staffordshire Bull Terrier pup was saved from the crash by the Staffordshire Fire and Rescue service.

Puppy Memphis, who is just one year old, was wedged in the footwell of a Vauxhall Vivaro following the accident.

A man and a woman were taken to hospital.

Firefighters tweeted: "We were called to the collision at around 7.57am and it involved three vehicles on the northbound A500 around half a mile from the Barthomley junction.

"Crews from Sandyford and Newcastle-under-Lyme attended and they used hydraulic cutting equipment to free Memphis from the foot well of a van involved.

"This lucky puppy called Memphis was rescued after becoming trapped in the foot well of a van and was miraculously uninjured"

A West Midlands Ambulance spokesperson said: 'We were called at 7.50am to a two vehicle RTC.

"We treated the driver, a man in his 30s, of one of the vehicles and he was taken to Royal Stoke University Hospital.

"We also assessed a woman in her 20s who had some leg bruising. She did not require any hospital treatment."
