Independent Venue Week 2019: These are the live music spots taking part in London
The London venues taking part in next year’s Independent Venue Week have been revealed.
Returning for its sixth year from January 28-February 3 2019, IVW will showcase small, independent venues with a range of one-off gigs and comedy nights.
There will be 189 venues from the UK taking part in next year’s celebrations, including 32 from the capital.
Shoreditch shines as particular hub of independent music in London, with no less than eight venues included, such as the Old Blue Last and Rich Mix.
The 100 Club on Oxford Street and the Social in Soho prove that independent music is still alive and kicking in central London, while elsewhere there are inclusions from Nunhead, New Cross and Putney.
Chloe Ward, UK director of Independent Venue Week, said: “It’s really great to be working with more venues than ever in London and we’re really excited about what they all have planned for the week.
“What’s even better is that we have more venues in more parts of London, and two of those are less than a year old, which is really positive to see.”
The full list of UK venues will be revealed on November 15, with details of events to be announced soon.
