Indiana State University moves priority enrollment deposit deadline to June 1

Mar. 22—Responding to delays in FAFSA processing at the U.S. Department of Education, Indiana State University has announced a shift in its priority deadline for enrollment deposits to June 1.

ISU anticipates releasing financial aid offers in late April following the Department of Education's release of FAFSA information to higher education institutions, expected before the end of March.

"Our enrollment management team has constantly monitored the FAFSA situation and has been communicating with our returning and prospective students every step of the way," said Chris Olsen, ISU provost. "We know this has been stressful for all families as they navigate the already-confusing college enrollment process."

Students are encouraged to submit their enrollment deposit no later than the June 1 priority deposit deadline to secure their enrollment and maximize their choices for student housing and preferred dates for ISU's New Student Orientation program.

Among the benefits of attending ISU:

Tuition-Free Guarantee: Over 50% of new, first-time students qualify for a tuition-free guarantee through the Indiana State Advantage program. Eligible students receive financial aid covering at least the total cost of in-state tuition. Details can be found at financial-aid/tuition- free-guarantee.

First-Year Housing Award: Students with a FAFSA on file and a Student Aid Index of up to $20,000 may be eligible for a one-time award of $5,000 to help pay for campus housing.

Experience Grant: All incoming students at Indiana State are eligible for a one-time grant of up to $3,000 to fund an internship or other work-based experience, study abroad, or a community-based service trip, undergraduate research project, or creative activity.
