Indigenous people demand protection for Amazon at COP26

Indigenous women in traditional clothing demanded protection for the Amazon and its people today (November 3) at the COP26 summit in Glasgow. The activists said indigenous populations were being killed and kicked off their lands. They also accused businesses of destroying the forest and burning it. Leaders appear to have acted already on some of their demands by promising to end deforestation by 2030, although previous pledges to control logging have failed.
