A husband-and-wife duo are setting up a new kids' soft play venue with a difference. The duo say the indoor inflatable play area will be something “totally new and unique”.

Military veteran Ian Thistlethwaite and wife Samantha, from Plymouth, are setting up Bounce Saltash. It will be an inflatable play and party venue for kids. The couple say the family-run business venture will be the first of its kind for the area.

Ian already owns the successful Bounce - Bouncy Castle Hire. The 39-year-old served in the Navy for 20 years, but now Ian and Samantha, aged 36, provide a "friendly and fun" service for local families to enjoy.

Ian said: “We want to bring something totally new and exciting to the area. It will provide the local community with a friendly and unique indoor inflatable play area, with different events happening every week.

“We are also hosting parties so a chance to have an all inclusive party without having to arrange everything separately. We will also be running several SEN sessions throughout our timetable which we aim to support the SEN community as much as we can.”

The indoor inflatable play area will offer play sessions, parties and some “awesome events” including discos, nerf wars, character visits and bug encounters.

There will be “plenty of different exciting and fun inflatables” including a huge unicorn mega slide, a caterpillar assault course, a 3D dinosaur toddler play park with soft play and inflatable axe throwing.

Ian said: “We will have an on site cafe selling exciting foods from hotdogs, whippy ice creams and desserts, sweets, slushies, milkshakes, snacks and hot drinks. We also have an awesome party room that will have disco lights, a Bluetooth speaker, tables and chairs and you can even bring your own food and enjoy a private party experience.

“We'll also be hosting various events weekly on Friday nights 4-6pm and hosting community activities for everyone to enjoy. You will even have the opportunity to hire the whole venue for the ultimate private inflatable party!”

The price for entry (90 minute sessions) will be £4.95 for a toddler (aged 1-2 years) and the cost for a child (aged 2-11 years) £9.95. A baby (under 12 months) is £1.50 and accompanying adults is also £1.50. Bounce Saltash will be opening at 1-3 Castle Buildings - the date is yet to be confirmed.
