When Instagram influencer Tommy Marcus saw the images coming out of Afghanistan on his smartphone, he was "so deeply upset" that he felt he had to "do something." With the help of his 800,000 followers, the 26-year-old New Yorker known online as "Quentin Quarantino" raised 7.2 million dollars in just three days, and started what would become an extraordinary operation to evacuate hundreds of Afghans, with the help of retired soldiers and former diplomats.
