Let's be honest here, Marvel's Inhumans series wasn't the best, but apparently a poor critical response hasn't stopped the show's (few) fans from asking the show's stars about a second season.

Fans have previously campaigned for the show to return for a second season on the condition it gets a new showrunner and a "soft reboot", but it seems their efforts were wasted as back in May ABC confirmed that the series had been officially cancelled.

Still, according to Anson Mount, who played Black Bolt, people continue to ask him if there's a chance that Inhumans might still come back – and he has one clear, snarky response for them:

Yeah, we'll take that as a no then.

For those of you who don't know, the character doing all the talking for Anson in the GIF is Odo (René Auberjonois), who appeared in Star Trek: Deep Space Nine.

And of course it's only fitting that Anson use a Star Trek GIF to comment on the end of his last project, as the actor's next role will see him take on the part of Captain Christopher Pike, the original captain of the USS Enterprise, in the upcoming second season of Star Trek: Discovery.

Anson confirmed the news earlier this year, tweeting: "Cat's out of the bag. Yep, I have officially joined STARFLEET, a dream I've had since around the age of 8 when I first discovered TOS syndicated on my local access channel in middle TN. And couldn't be more excited to be playing PIKE! @startrekcbs."

Pike is set to play a key role in the show's second season, with the recent Comic-Con trailer teasing that the Enterprise distress call at the end of season one was actually just paving the way for an entirely different mission.

Star Trek: Discovery will premiere its second season on CBS All Access in the US in January 2019 and Netflix internationally, including the UK.
