Injured mountain biker rushed to hospital after fall in woodland area near Edinburgh
A mountain biker was rushed to hospital following a fall at a popular woodland area near Edinburgh.
The casualty was assisted by hero rescue volunteers following the incident at Glentress in Peebles on Sunday afternoon. They were then transported to hospital.
Tweed Valley Mountain Rescue Team attended the incident at the bottom of the 'Harry's Blue' trail - arriving just 10 minutes after the alarm was raised. Due to the remote location, the team were forced to carry the injured biker to the ambulance waiting nearby.

"Today marked the first use of an amazing set of maps and other navigational tools put together by team member Ian recently. They played an important role in us being able to quickly understand the incident location, the likely best RV and extraction points, and being able to get there fast.
"We wish the casualty the very best for a quick recovery."

Earlier this month we told how Tweed Valley assisted HM Coastguard during a multi-agency response to an injured hillwalker on the Pentland Hills on the outskirts of Edinburgh.
The casualty was airlifted to hospital following a medical emergency as police, medics and the coastguard helicopter were scrambled to the scene. Sunday's incident was Tweed Valley's 59th callout of 2024.
