Ink Thrown Over Insulate Britain Protesters in West London

A man threw ink over protesters from Insulate Britain as they blocked the A40 road in Acton, London, on October 27.

This video, filmed by Greatest Hits Radio London, shows a protester with ink on his face.

Footage posted on Twitter by BBC journalist Vinnie O’Dowd shows a man squirting ink at the protesters sitting on the road.

The protester in the video, named as 77-year-old Christian by Greatest Hits Radio London, said that having ink thrown on him wasn’t painful, but it was unpleasant and sad.

“The whole thing’s sad, it’s sad that we have to do this. I hate doing it. I’m a retired doctor, I spent my life trying to help people and I’m reduced to having to do this because the government won’t address the problem adequately,” Christian said in the video.

The Metropolitan Police said they arrested 17 activists from the group on Wednesday. Credit: Greatest Hits Radio London via Storyful
