Satisfying footage shows 64-year-old Vo Van making ropes in his village near Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam. “I've been doing this job since I was 15 years old, now I'm 64 years old and I've been in this profession for nearly 50 years," says Vo. He used to do everything by hand but now uses both electricity and a tractor to stretch out the individual strands and then combine them to make the finished product. Vo says making ropes is hard work and requires a lot of patience and skill. His reward is around 7 US dollars per day.
