Joe Absolom's early career in acting began when he was just a teenager. His first major break came when he was cast in the popular ITV police drama The Bill in 1995.
He played the role of a young, troubled character named Alex Callaghan, and it quickly earned him critical attention and opened doors for future opportunities in television.
However, it was his role as Al Large in the beloved British series Doc Martin that truly catapulted him into the public eye. Joining the show in 2004, Joe's portrayal of the fun, charming, and often mischievous character of Al made him a fan favourite.
His character, the nephew of Martin Clunes' Dr. Martin Ellingham, became an essential part of the show's quirky and endearing ensemble cast.
Joe's chemistry with the rest of the cast and his natural comedic timing garnered widespread acclaim, securing him a spot in the hearts of viewers.
Before landing these high-profile roles, Joe’s acting career began with a mix of smaller TV appearances and a variety of guest roles. He appeared in shows like Grange Hill and Bugs, where he started honing his craft and gaining experience.
As well as TV, Joe has also ventured into film, starring in roles such as I Spit On Your Grave in 2013.
