Inside new-look Chester pub with live sport, 'killer darts' and a spot for dogs

A Chester pub has reopened its doors following a major revamp. The Wheatsheaf Inn, in Upton, has welcomed back pubgoers after an extensive three-week refurbishment.

Boasting a brighter, modern look, the renovation has resulted in a complete transformation of the Heath Road venue. A refreshed bar, new soft furnishings and an enhanced dining area has given the pub a new lease of life.

Along with the new look, the Wheatsheaf Inn has introduced an all-new food menu featuring dishes such as tandoori chicken sizzling skillet and the giant gyros.

The family-friendly boozer also shows the best of live sport with guest able to pre-book a table to get the comfiest seats in the house. The pub hosts two popular quizzes every Sunday and Thursday at 8pm, as well as 'killer darts' every Tuesday evening.

Four-legged friends are welcome at the Wheatsheaf Inn as the pub has a dog-friendly area in the bar, along with water and treats available on request to ensure that the pooches are as comfortable as their owners.

General manager Eve Smith said: "We’re thrilled to reveal the Wheatsheaf Inn’s new look to our guests.

"Whether you’re looking for a family meal out or somewhere to enjoy the sport with a pint, our pub is ready to welcome guests, both new and old, to enjoy our brand-new look — but with the same sizzle we’ve always had."
