Inside Outlander star Nell Hudson's life from cheating ex and famous mum to Shia LaBeouf film
Outlander fans have been eagerly awaiting season seven part two, with stars including Nell Hudson reprising her role as Laoghaire MacKenzie for the penultimate series.
Jamie Fraser’s (played by Sam Heughan) second wife has caused plenty of trouble for him and Claire Fraser (Caitriona Balfe) over the years and is returning once again for the second half of season seven.
Apart from the Starz drama, fans also know actress Nell Hudson as Nancy Skerrett from the ITV historical drama Victoria - but what else is there to know about the 34-year-old?
Famous mum
Born in November 1990 in Wick, Nell is the middle of three children to parents Charles Hudson and journalist and author Cressida Connolly.
As well as having written for top publications such as The Guardian, The Telegraph and Vogue, Connolly has published a series of books including After The Party, Bad Relations and My Former Heart.

Heartbreak
The Outlander star opened up last month on the podcast Tell Me How You’re Mighty about her experience of cheating, discovering her ex-boyfriend’s infidelities the day after their eight-year anniversary.
She shared: “We went out for dinner on a Wednesday night in May 2019 to celebrate our eight-year anniversary.
“Wednesday night, we both put posts up on our Instagram of each other saying, ‘Happy anniversary, I love you so much, can’t believe it’s been eight years...' Words to that effect.
“The next morning, he went out to therapy, and my phone rang and it was my cousin and my cousin said, ‘I’m really sorry, I don’t know how to tell you this but I just saw both of your Instagram posts and I just can’t not say anything and I know two different girls that your boyfriend is s******g’.”
Nell went on to find out that her ex-partner had slept with 11 other people while they were together.
She continued: “It was a complete double life and it was just such a shock and one of the many things that I’ve had to grieve was having a proper break-up, because a proper break-up is a beautiful thing.
“And psychologically, it’s not satisfying, that’s too strong a word, but a healthy thing to go through…
“[We] literally [went] from ‘happy eight-year anniversary’ to ‘I never want to see you ever again’.”
Engagement
Despite Nell’s troubled relationship past, she is now happily engaged to film producer Maximillian King, who popped the question in Paris earlier this year.
The star, after already posting several pictures of their trip together, shared a cute snap of them with her engagement ring, writing: "Oh sorry actually just one more from Paris - WE’RE GETTING MARRIED!!!” (sic)
Fans flooded her social media with congratulatory messages including some famous faces like Poldark star Eleanor Tomlinson who wrote: "Congratulations darling! So happy for you!"
Outlander’s leading man Sam Heughan also commented: "Congrats you two!!"
Nell and her fiancee Maximillian currently reside in Peckham with their Jack Russell cross Maggie.
What’s next
Of course, fans are excited to see Nell return to Outlander as Laoghaire to see what mischief she gets up to next in season seven, part two.
But according to the actress’ IMDb profile, she has another exciting project in the works that is now in post-production.
She will be starring in the crime drama Salvable, which follows the story of “an aging boxer who struggles to escape the grasp of a small town while battling a fractured relationship with his teenage daughter”.
Leading the cast is none other than Transformers and Fury actor Shia LaBeouf as a character called Vince.
They are joined by other recognisable stars such as This Is England’s Michael Socha, Jimmy’s Hall star Barry Ward and Servant star Toby Kebbell.
Outlander is available to watch on MGM+ via Prime Video in the UK and Starz in the US.
