Inside Rylan and Rob Rinder's relationship as romance rumours swirl following Grand Tour filming

Rylan and Robert Rinder have got the nation laughing on their brand new show Rob and Rylan's Grand Tour.

In the new BBC Two travel show the pair go on an Italian adventure and follow in the footsteps of 19th century romantic poet Lord Byron and other Grand Tourists, immersing themselves in the art, culture, bad behaviour and life-changing exploits of historic Brits abroad.

Many fans have loved watching the two bond in the show with others hinting that they could be the perfect couple.

One fan penned on social media: "I just have to say that the new series you have done with Rob Rinder is so beautiful. What a great partnership!"

Another penned: "Loved this series. The chemistry between Rylan and Rob is very touching and very funny. Need a new series around Greece or Austria."

While one said: "Watching @Rylan and @RobbieRinder in “Rob & Rylan’s Grand Tour” My god, I love them separately…..but together they’re like gin and tonic, chocolate and strawberries, cheese on toast."

Robert Rinder, known as Judge Rinder, is a host on Good Morning Britain and Rylan is known for presenting This Morning and Big Brother.

We take a look at their friendship and how it has blossomed since the show aired...

Something in common

Both Rob and Rylan have in recent years went through painful divorces which is something that they speak about together openly on the show. Both Rylan and Rob have recently split from their husbands and spoke about their heartbreak during the show.

Rob tearfully opened up about his divorce from husband Seth Cummings: “I was once so in love when I was in my early twenties, but it wasn't reciprocated. And it never has been.”

Rylan comforted his co-star and said: “Do you know what, Rob? We're here once, we've been through quite a lot of stuff. What's it taught us? Nothing's forever unless it's right.”

'Genuine friends'

The duo appeared on This Morning last week to talk about the show and said it definitely brought them closer together, Rylan told Ben Shephard: "Later in the interview, Rylan said: "Watching it back, the narrative, the arc throughout the three episodes even something as stupid as in Venice, we were in separate accommodation. In Florence, we were in the same accommodation in different rooms and by Rome I'm waking up with him underneath me: 'Get off of me, barrister!'

"But that's the narrative of the arc, we started this process as mates and we have finished it as actual genuine friends. That's been probably the best thing to come out of it."

Putting rumours to rest

Ahead of the first show, Rylan penned on social media: "Tonight our new show starts at 9pm on BBC Two and iPlayer. It was so special. This man has become family to me because of this experience. It really is a show like no other and we're so proud of it. Hope you enjoy x."

Rob, who is also known as Judge Rinder, replied: "'Friendship may and often does, grow into love.' Byron."

This got fans excited, however, Rylan quashed any suggestion of romance last week in a social media post when a journalist had tried to question his mum Linda about the rumours.

He posted on X, formerly known as Twitter: "To the journalist that just doorstepped my mum at her house, as polite as you were, please don't. She said you were a lovely man but she's 71 years old and it makes me feel slightly uncomfortable."

Quick to debunk the rumours, Rylan said: "The answer is no. I'm not dating Rob Rinder he's one of my closest friends. Next time tweet me. Thanks."
