Inside the new wine bar at Michelin Bib Gourmand restaurant Marmo
Popular Baldwin Street restaurant Marmo has opened its brand new wine bar, and we can share a peek inside. The 'intimate and informal space' is open on Friday and Saturday evenings, with no reservations required, and the team will be serving up a regularly changing bar menu and 'eclectic' selection of wines.
Lily Sterck, who owns and runs Marmo alongside her husband Cosmo, told BristolLive: "It's an intimate space to have an aperitif before or a nightcap after a booking upstairs, or just for a drink and a bite. The food menu will change frequently, currently featuring Cornish bluefin tuna crudo, pumpkin caponata and taleggio toasties.
"We will be pouring an eclectic selection of wines by the glass, picked from the cellar each night. Looking ahead to the new year, we'll offer the space for private parties, events and wine tastings!"

The wine bar space can fit some 16 people sitting, and Lily says there has already been huge support for the new opening. "It's been a long time in the making, so we are so happy to be able to use the space at last," she said.
"We've been very lucky and had some lovely support the first two weekends we've been open. We're very grateful to our customers for this."
The new Marmo wine bar sits downstairs from the main restaurant, which has been awarded a Michelin Bib Gourmand. The restaurant itself opened back in August 2019 in the former home of Bar Buvette and has been run by the husband and wife team, who previously worked in a number of well-known London establishments. Its name means 'marble' in Italian.
Marmo is dog-friendly and the restaurant already serves up a concise menu "guided by seasonal and locally sourced ingredients" and its wine list "showcases European producers who farm their vineyards organically or biodynamically and who use minimal or no chemical intervention in the winery".
You can find the Marmo restaurant and wine bar at 31 Baldwin Street, Bristol, BS1 1RG.
