A Swindon fish and chip shop has been given back-to-back zero ratings for food hygiene.
Mr Cod on Cricklade Road, Pinehurst, was originally inspected by on Friday, June 23 and awarded the bottom score.
The report stated that major improvement was necessary regarding the handling of food including preparation, cooking, re-heating, cooling and storage.
Urgent improvement was also deemed necessary for the management of food safety and the cleanliness of the building.
Now three months on and the takeaway has been rated again following an inspection on August 30.
This latest report found that the problems persisted and labelled the fast food restaurant as needing urgent improvement.
As a result, Mr Cod retained its zero-out-of-five rating making it one of only two businesses in Swindon with the bottom score.
Following the first inspection, Mr Cod manager Juanita Fernandes claimed the boiler was the main issue and that the rating would improve.
“The boiler was broken and there was no hot water but now we have fixed it and applied for another inspection,” said the 38-year-old.
“We are expecting them to come back and we hope to get a previous rating of four back.
“I assure them that the hygiene will be of top class quality despite the rating.”
The Adver has contacted Mr Cod for comment on the new report.
