A resident of a village in northern India cycles 25 miles every day to work despite having only one leg. Naresh from Atrauli village in Uttar Pradesh lost his right leg during a train accident in 2010. With giving up work simply not an option financially, Naresh learned new skills. "I got a job at a hardware factory which is about 40-kilometres from my home, so I decided to cycle daily to my workplace," he said. According to local media, Naresh has become something of a local hero for his determination to overcome adversity and continue providing for his family.
