It looks like the latest Instagram change could seriously mess up many people's profiles – so it's understandable that there are a lot of unimpressed responses out there.

Last week, some users of the social media app started to notice a change to the Grid picture display system on their profile pages, and it appears the company is seriously considering changing the number of horizontal tiles on the grid from three to four.

Which means two big things:

1) Faster Insta-stalking/scrolling through other people's profile pages.

2) Ruining the mosaic-type picture arrangements people have been using their grids to perfect for years. Not cool, dudes.

"It's been over a year that I've been formatting my Instagram in a multiple of three posts," user Palash Prabhaker told The Ringer.

"I never had a design planned for my Instagram. All I knew was that if someone stumbled on [my account], they can scroll through my feed and get inspired.

"I regard my Instagram as a digital representation of me, I use my account as my digital portfolio.

"Messing with the grid view would mean that I will have to curate my Instagram again from the start with a constant fear of Instagram changing the layout again."

And he wasn't the only one feeling peeved.
