Floodwaters submerged a running trail in Homewood, a suburb of Birmingham, Alabama, as 4.65 inches of rain fell in the area on May 4, according to the National Weather Service (NWS).

Footage shot by Homewood resident Davis Ebbert shows a nearby creek overflowing onto the Lakeshore running trail as a result of the heavy rains.

On Tuesday evening, the NWS issued a flash flood emergency for the area, as some Homewood residents were evacuated from apartments by the Homewood Police Department.
