Inter have joined rivals AC Milan in their interest in Aston Villa full back Matty Cash.

That’s according to Italian football journalist Gianluca di Marzio who says the Nerazzurri have ‘looked at’ Cash as a possible replacement for Denzel Dumfries – who has himself been linked with Villa.

The Claret & Blues have plenty to think about at present with talks ongoing with Juventus for a potential triple deal involving Douglas Luiz, Weston McKennie and Samuel Iling-Junior, while the momentum in the deal that would take Jhon Duran to Chelsea seems to be waning.

There is, of course, the mini-deadline of June 30 – if Villa need to book any revenue in the current accounting period for Profitability & Sustainability Rules purposes, to say nothing of interest in other players and other clubs’ interest in theirs.

Cash has been linked with a move away from Villa Park since the season ended last month and last week The Athletic claimed Milan have been in touch – with Villa demanding £30million for a player who still has three years on his current contract. Di Marzio says Inter are also looking at Bologna’s Dan Ndoye.
