Inter Milan vs Tottenham, Uefa Champions League: Spurs to stick with white kit tradition in Italy

Tottenham will continue their tradition of wearing all-white in their European games tonight when they take on Inter Milan in their Champions League opener, almost.

With their home kit for this season featuring in navy blue gradient, their traditional gleaming all-white look with be interrupted half-way down.

Spurs wear navy blue shorts in their domestic games but, with a couple of exceptions, have plumped for all-white in European competition since the 1960s, a tradition started by club legend Bill Nicholson.

Their usual shorts, worn by the U19s in their Uefa Youth League tie with Inter’s youngsters, could well clash with the Italian outfit’s black home shorts.

Mauricio Pochettino’s side will be looking to bounce back from consecutive Premier League defeats when they begin their European campaign tonight. Barcelona and PSV Eindhoven make up their group and, despite a tough draw, Spurs will take confidence from topping a group which featured eventual winners Real Madrid last term.
