Internationally-acclaimed DJ James Hype headlining ‘unmissable’ one-off night of house music hits in Hull
Globally-renowned DJ James Hype is heading for Hull for a night that promises to be “unforgettable”, say the organisers.
Fans should prepare for an electrifying night of house music as the internationally-acclaimed DJ and producer takes over The Old School House, on Friday, November 15, as part of his upcoming UK tour, Get Closer. Known for his chart-topping hits such as More Than Friends and his distinctive, high-energy remixes, James Hype is set to deliver an “unforgettable” set that will keep the dancefloor moving from start to finish.
The Get Closer tour is a passionate call to support venues that have historically been at the heart of UK dance culture but are now at risk of disappearing. James said: “This isn’t about making money; this is about giving back to the culture that we all came from and making sure it exists for future generations.”

Having built a reputation for his incredible live performances and now a global success in the dance and electronic scene, James is taking a step back from huge festival stages to perform at smaller venues across the country, reigniting the essence of intimate club nights. Fans can expect a pulse-pounding experience as he brings his signature sound and vibrant energy to one of the city's most iconic venues.
Joining him on the decks will be Daz Flatman and Kirk Lloyd, the founders of The Gathering Festival, in Cleethorpes, who will warm up the crowd with their deep grooves and festival-ready beats. Local talent Green will also be stepping in to deliver an exciting set, ensuring the energy is high from the very start of the night.
Kirk said: “James asked us to help find a venue – the best place it could possibly be was The Old School House. For him to ask us to be involved and support him is brilliant.
“This will be a real one-off. It will never happen again. This is such a big event for Hull.”
The party will not end when the headliner wraps up, however. Once James Hype finishes his explosive set, The Old School House will return to its regular hours, allowing fans to keep dancing late into the night.
“This is an unmissable event for lovers of house music and club culture and is a movement to preserve the culture that shaped the world-renowned UK dance music scene. Don’t miss your chance to experience this special event and stand in support of the venues that keep the spirit of club culture alive.”
