The Internet's Reaction To This Nonbinary Student's Question For Donald Trump Might Help Restore Your Faith In Humanity
We recently shared a story about a nonbinary student at Rutgers University who was interviewed by MSNBC right before the presidential election. In the interview, host Stephanie Ruhle asked the student what question they would ask Donald Trump if given the chance.

The student's question for Donald Trump was, "Do you see me as a human?"
The student's question triggered an inspiring sense of community in the comments. Here's what they said:
1."I just want to hug this student forever and tell them there are so many more people who see them as an amazing human."
"Anyone who claims not to is the one who isn’t human... Too many of these kids have been disowned by the family that is supposed to protect them. I feel honored to have been family to so many who have simply needed someone they could count on to be there for them, whether to talk to or in times of crisis. Let’s show people we care about something more than just ourselves."
2."You are our future, you matter a whole lot."
3."As an old lady that has seen many changes in our world, I see this student as very human."
"We all walk together and are all made the same. We should be able to live our lives as individuals who do what we want and can be who we are without sadness or criticism."
4."You are in control of your own future. You are capable of doing amazing things, and fuck anyone who says otherwise."
5."Please know there are still many good folks out here who support you... Be well, we love you. 🥰"
6."Everybody matters, everybody counts! You are loved!"
7."I see you as a person, worthy of respect, and if we met perhaps we would be friends."
8."I’m sorry anyone has to feel that way. You are more than just human, you are a beautiful person created by God."
9."We are all human and deserve respect from everyone. You are a remarkable, beautiful person."
10."As a registered Republican... I also think this person is beautiful."
11."You have gifts that only you have. You are seen, and you are heard. I am thinking of you and asking that God hold you and keep you. God bless you!"
12."I really wish the best for that person, and I'll always support the queer community!"
13."As someone who is queer and disabled, that question is so relatable to me. Nobody should feel less than human because of a politician."
14."I’m sorry and apologize, that 'we the people' have put ourselves in this position."
15.And finally, "God Bless the Children."
Reading these responses was the kind of timeline cleanse my heart needed. I have to know, what kind of encouragement and community have you seen since the election? Let us know in the comments.
