Investigations continue after bodies of young couple found in flat

The deaths of the 23-year-olds are being treated as unexplained by police.

Investigations are continuing after a young couple were found dead in a flat.

Police are currently treating the deaths of the couple, named locally as 23-year-olds Derek Hurles and Nicole McGeachin, as unexplained.

Officers were called to Stoneside Square in the south side of Glasgow following reports of “concern for a person” at around 10.10am on Monday morning.

They discovered two bodies when they entered the property.

The fire service was also asked to attend and sent four appliances to the scene.

Post-mortems will be carried out to establish the cause of death.

A police spokesman said: “At around 10.10am on Monday police were called to a report of concern for a person at Stoneside Square.

“Emergency services attended and on arrival officers discovered two bodies within a property.

“The deaths are currently being treated as unexplained.”
