Iowa Firefighters Revive Cat After House Fire

Firefighters in Ames, Iowa, were filmed reviving a cat that had been rescued from the basement of a burning house on September 5. According to the fire department, the cat, named Cleo, was still being treated for respiratory problems but had regained full neurological function and was expected to do well.

Firefighters had entered the house twice before finding Cleo, who was “unresponsive and surrounded by thick, black smoke,” according to KCCI citing the fire department. After treating the cat with a special revival mask for pets, Cleo started meowing, breathing on her own, and moving, the report said. Credit: Facebook/Ames Fire Department
