Apple’s upgrade program allows you to get the new phone as soon as it is available, for a monthly payment, and the tech giant has updated its website to say upgrades will be available from Friday 17 September at 1pm. On the landing page, it indicates that the pay-monthly price starts at £37.45 for the handset, with a £69 upfront fee.

Currys PC World just launched its interest link

How much does the iPhone 13 cost?

During Apple’s product launch event yesterday (14 September) it announced that it was giving us not one, but four new handsets: iPhone 13, iPhone 13 mini, iPhone 13 pro and iPhone 13 max. They all have the same upgraded A15 chip, but the pro and pro max have more advanced features, including better battery life, improved cameras and a new 120HZ promotion display. As such, they are all priced differently:

Much like other network providers, O2 has just announced that it will be kicking off its pre-orders on Friday 17 September for the iPhone 13, as well as the all-new pro and pro max versions of the handset. The smartphone will arrive a week later and O2 is offering you up to six months of Apple Music for free and a three-year warranty on the plus plan option.

Apple announced that its all-new smartphone, the iPhone 13 comes in four models: iPhone 13 mini, iPhone 13, iPhone 13 pro and iPhone 13 pro max. They all have a lot in common, including the new A15 Bionic chip, faster 5G and a smaller notch. But, the Pro series is arguably on another level compared to the iPhone 13.
The pro has a new 120HZ promotion display, as well as improved cameras, but it also has a better battery life (22 hours for the pro, 28 hours for the pro max). Owing to the fact it is such a high-end device, it’s got a high price tag to boot. The price of the iPhone 13 starts at £779 (Apple.com), while the iPhone 13 pro will cost £949 (Apple.com).
How to pre-order Apple Watch series 7

Usually, you can expect Apple to confirm a pre-order and release date with the announcement of a new product. This time, Apple simply said the Watch series 7 would be available “later this fall”.
This most likely means that the wearable will be released anytime before the end of November 2021 with a pre-order window up to two weeks before the device goes on sale. However, the ongoing global chip shortage could cause some delays with the initial production and availability of the Watch series 7. We’ll just have to wait and see.

iPhone 13 vs iPhone 12: How do Apple’s handsets compare?

Yesterday (Tuesday 14 September) announced the launch of its all-new iPhone 13, during the event the tech giant seemed particularly impressed with its new A15 Bionic chip, making it its more powerful and efficient iPhone yet. So much so, VP at Apple Kaiann Drance said “there’s nothing in the world like this chip”. The iPhone 12 however runs on an A14 Bionic chip, which our writer praised for being “stellar”, so we expect good things from this new chip.
The display has also been improved and the battery should last 1.5 hours longer than its counterpart. Apple also said that the phone has a new camera system that includes vastly improved low-light performance.
Similarly to the iPhone 12, the all-new handset has 5G. But where it differs is that it has more antenna bands, which should allow it to work faster and in more places, Apple revealed.
Pre-order the iPhone 13 at EE

Network provider EE has confirmed that it will launch its pre-order system on Friday 17 September at 1pm – this ties in with Apple’s timings and other retailers.
At this stage, it’s unclear how much a contract will cost, but, what we do know is it’s offering a full works plan that includes a whole host of benefits. Included within your 24-month, truly unlimited data contract will be access to Apple Music, Apple TV+ and Apple Arcade. Plus upgrade whenever you want.
How to get the best iPhone 13 pre-order deals

All UK network providers are expected to launch their pre-order systems from Friday 17 September, but you can register your interest at Three, O2, Carphone Warehouse, EE, and Vodafone now.
Apple announced yesterday (Tuesday 14 September) during its launch event that the price of the iPhone 13 will be £799, while the iPhone 13 mini will cost £679, the iPhone 13 pro £949 and the iPhone 13 max £1,049.

“Apple’s machine is slick and enjoyable to use,” praised The Independent’s technology critic in his review of the best TV streaming boxes. “It has a great TV app that keeps track of what you’re watching and suggests the next episode of what you saw on iPlayer, for instance,” he adds.
There are other neat features. If you’ve missed an important bit of dialogue in an episode or film, press “the microphone button on the remote and say, ‘What did they say?’ and it’ll rewind 15 seconds and play that last moment again complete with subtitles”. Launched in 2017, the Apple watch series 3 is an older model of the Apple watch, but it’s far from over the hill. For years it was the undisputed king of wearables, and now it continues to be sold as a cheaper, entry-level alternative to the cutting-edge series 6 and the dialled-back Apple watch SE.
It has all the core functionality you might need from an iPhone-compatible smartwatch, allowing you to control music and see and respond to notifications and messages without having to take your phone out of your pocket. The display looks sharp and the UI is responsive. You don’t get the fancy ECG monitoring of newer Apple watches, but the most vital fitness sensors are all there, enabling you to track workouts, count steps and monitor your heart rate around the clock.

Ahead of the predicted release of AirPods 3, we’ve seen a whopping deal on the AirPods pro.
Mostly retaining the same design as the OG AirPods, our writer noted they have a “heightened level of finesse” in our in-depth review of the AirPods pro. As high-end earphones go, these are “difficult to find much fault in”, they said.
As for the audio quality, they have a “lovely, warm sound to them, beautifully balanced across the register” and the “adaptive EQ automatically tunes low and mid frequencies to the shape of your ear, which kicks in the longer you listen”. The active noise cancellation is “impressive”, “shutting out the majority of ambient noise, and dampening any sound that gets through”. With money off such a high-quality pair of headphones, we’d recommend snapping up this deal ASAP.

According to Apple, the 12 Mini is the world’s smallest and lightest 5G phone.
The Independent‘s technology critic, David Phelan, reviewed the device and said: “If you don’t want a big phone, because your hands won’t stretch to one or it’ll ruin the line of your suit, or some other reason, the iPhone 12 Mini is pretty compelling. It’s also the first iPhone as small as this to feature an OLED screen, with a much higher resolution than the LCD screen of the iPhone 11, for instance.”
He explains that the display is the highest-resolution iPhone screen ever, beating the other iPhone 12 handsets, describing it as “pin-sharp, bright and with great colour fidelity”.
