YouTube channel GizmoSlip has engaged in a special, somewhat silly experiment to celebrate the Easter holiday: can a chocolate rabbit really protect an iPhone 7 from a ludicrously high fall?
It's a question we've all be asking since we saw the title of the video, and now, after a whole three minutes of waiting, we have an answer. Sort of.
GizmoSlip doesn't actually qualify whether the phone is working after the drop, but it's clear that the screen, and most likely the display, are both headed for the scrapyard.
When viewed in slow motion the video shows off how much of the impact is absorbed by the bunny. The shell smashes into a huge number of pieces and goes flying, whilst the phone itself remains relatively still.
A similar test is conducted by GizmoSlip on the iPhone 6S. In lieu of an Easter bunny, the phone is inserted inside a hollow plastic egg stuffed with Cadbury chocolate eggs.
The 6S phone fares better than the iPhone 7, and is pulled from the eggsplosion seemingly operational and in-tact.
We don't recommend trying either eggsperiment with your eggstremely eggsensive phones, unless can easily shell out for a new one. And even then, you might end up with egg on your face.
