Iranian Embassy Staff Accused of Attempting to 'Intimidate' Husband of Nazanin Zaghari-Ratcliffe

The British comedian and author Shappi Khorsandi visited Richard Ratcliffe, the husband of Nazanin Zaghari-Ratcliffe, at his hunger strike at the Iranian embassy in London on June 18 and took video showing barriers being moved near his chair.

Khorsandi tweeted that embassy staff were “intimidating Richard by pushing forward their barricades and trying to edge us off the pavement.”

Ratcliffe began his hunger strike on Saturday, June 15, in solidarity with his wife after she began her own hunger strike.

Nazanin Zaghari-Ratcliffe was jailed in Iran in April 2016. Iran alleged she was part of a “foreign-linked hostile network,” according to the BBC. Credit: Shappi Khorsandi via Storyful
