Ireland rugby limited edition kit has fans all saying the same thing
Ireland rugby fans have been reacting to the new limited edition kit that has been launched by Canterbury. The jersey marks the 150th anniversary of the sport here.
An initial 150 women's jerseys were made available on Friday for the special anniversary Test match against the Wallaroos at Kingspan Stadium on Saturday..
The exclusive kit pays homage to the history of Irish international rugby, with the classic design taking inspiration from 1875. The large white collar and bold crest creates a 'vintage aesthetic', with Canterbury bringing an 'old classic back to life'.

The full release of men's, women's, and kid’s jerseys will be on November 29 available in selected Intersport Elverys stores and online ahead of Irish Rugby’s 150th Anniversary Test match against the Wallabies at Aviva Stadium on November 30. Prices start from £60 / €75.
Canterbury added: "Throughout the 2024/25 season, the Irish Rugby Football Union (IRFU) will mark the 150th anniversary of Ireland’s inaugural international rugby match, which took place between Ireland and England on February 15, 1875, with a calendar of events to celebrate the game of rugby in Ireland.
"The celebrations will then conclude with the British & Irish Lions facing Argentina at Aviva Stadium for the first time on Irish soil on Friday, June 20, 2025."
There has been plenty of reaction to the new jersey, with man fans giving it the thumbs up.
Kaya said on X: "Wow awesome kit . Definitely getting it … Good luck."
Another supporter labelled it "gorgeous" while another said: "This should’ve been the kit for the whole season instead of the rubbish we got. Super shade of green!"

Elizabeth said: "I love the crest and the shade of green While I know how important sponsorship deals are, it’s great not to see a big colourful logo on the front …."
Another said: "That looks so sick. I love it."
Tom said: "Finally a nice shade of green."
Calum exclaimed: "Holy s*** that is smart!!!!!"
The reaction to the anniversary kit is a stark contrast to the criticism aimed at the new home and alternate shirts which were released last week.
One fan wrote: "I’m in dire need of a new Ireland jersey, so this is extremely upsetting news for me."
Another commented on the alternate jersey: "Looks like someone chucked a bucket of green paint at a lad in white."
Someone else said: "Not sure about either, doesn't really knock your socks off."
One other person wrote: "Someone been messing around with the etch a sketch again."
The sentiments were echoed by this supporter who likes the new anniversary jersey.
They said: "This should be the Irish Rugby home jersey for the 24/25 season. Not that collarless socceresque s**** they released last week."
