Iron Fist star announces new project after Netflix show cancellation

Iron Fist star Finn Jones has landed another new TV gig following the Netflix show's cancellation.

After the recent announcement that he would be joining Fox drama Prodigal Son, he has also signed up for a new role in Apple TV+'s Dickinson.

The Game of Thrones alum will be part of season two – though it is unclear who he will play – with his involvement confirmed in a new cast photo posted by showrunner Alena Smith.

Dickinson, which stars Hailee Steinfeld as Emily Dickinson, is a fictional take on the classic American poet.

Meanwhile, Jones recently opened up about Iron Fist's cancellation, saying: "It's just a shame that the show gets cancelled right when Danny reaches his peak. It feels like the journey is incomplete."

Marvel boss Kevin Feige has also spoken about the possibility of Iron Fist and the other Defenders appearing on the big screen.

"I don't know," he said. "There were a lot of great characters that were on those Netflix series, and I think there is a period of time... it'll be a while before we could use any of them based on what the contracts were, so I'm not sure."

Feige added: "And also, even answering that question is a spoiler. But there are some great Marvel characters there."
