ISIL suicide squad attacks refugee camp in Syria

More than 30 Kurdish fighters and civilians have been killed after an ISIL suicide squad attacked a camp for displaced persons.

The makeshift refuge for Syrians and Iraqis is in Rajm al-Salibi, close to Syria’s north-eastern border with Iraq.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, based in London, claim five suicide bombers detonated themselves outside and inside the camp.

As many as 30 others were wounded in the violence.

In statement ISIL said six groups of fighters had assaulted positions of the Syrian Democratic Forces.

ISIL is coming under mounting pressure from the SDF, Kurds and Arabs backed by US air power.

A coalition offensive on ISIL’s de-facto capital Raqqa is expected at anytime.
