The Island campmate slammed after almost getting killed

The Island with Bear Grylls kicked off on Sunday night (April 23), and there wasn't any shortage of contestants who infuriated viewers at home.

Aside from Ben Cooper – who proudly described himself as the "alpha male" of the 18-30s group – we had Frank Rothwell.

Frank got into a spot of trouble, putting himself in danger by attempting to cross from one side of the island to another, despite objections from his fellow contestants.

"Frank, you're tired," said one person. "Please don't go in yet."

But Frank ignored the warnings and went into the water, and he struggled to swim against the tide, drifting out to the right. Two of his fellow contestants had to swim after him to drag him to safety.

And some of the social media reaction was less than kind towards him.

"Frank needs to realise there's no I in team," said one person on Twitter. "He could have got himself or another of the islanders killed!! #TheIsland"
