Israeli Airstrike Obliterates Building in Gaza During Ongoing Conflict

A residential tower in Gaza was obliterated by an airstrike on May 16.

Video filmed by Gaza resident Mohamed el Saife shows a large explosion followed by huge plumes of smoke rising from the scene.

El Saife told Storyful residents of the building, including his brother, were warned by Israeli forces of the upcoming strike, before it was targeted.

Between May 15 and 16, at least 33 people were killed in strikes, Gaza health officials said.

The total number of deaths from Israeli strikes stood at 197, health officials in Gaza said. In Israel, a man was killed in Tel Aviv during a rocket barrage, bringing the total of deaths there to 10 by May 16. Credit: Mohamed el Saife via Storyful
