Italian activists gather outside Catania's port to support migrants stopped from disembarking by Italy's new government
A large group of activists gathered outside the port of Catania in Sicily, Italy, on November 7, in solidarity with the migrants stopped from disembarking by Italy's new right-wing government. The footage shows demonstrators chanting "Freedom" and "Libertà". As of today (November 9), the Italian government authorised the disembarkment of 35 people from the boat Humanity One. 89 migrants disembarked in Reggio Calabria. France has agreed to let migrants disembark from Sos Mediterranée's boat Ocean Viking. The protest was organised by the organisation Borderline Sicilia Onlus.
