Italian Coast Guard Rescues More Than 8,000 Migrants in Four Days

The Italian Coast Guard rescued more than 8,000 migrants between Friday, October 21, and Monday, October 24. This video shows the moment when 250 people were taken from two rubber boats on Saturday.

In total, 3,300 people were rescued on Friday, 2,400 more on Saturday, 400 on Sunday and 2,200 on Monday, according to the Italian Coast Guard. Among the migrants were 21 children. During these four days, the rescuers also recovered 37 bodies. Credit: YouTube/Guardia Costiera
