Italian restaurant in Newcastle 'taken over' by United legends for wild nights out
It's still a very popular restaurant in town, but go back 30 years and a certain Italian was a huge favourite with players from Newcastle United, with what were meant to be 'quiet' nights out, often taking a turn.
Turn the clock back to the mid-90s and Kevin Keegan, having taken on the job of NUFC boss a few years earlier, transformed the Magpies into a force to be reckoned with in the Premier League, with them coming within a whisker of taking home the trophy, only to be pipped by Manchester United, after Keegan's famous 'I'd love it if we beat them!' rant.
Newcastle fans still have very fond memories of the Entertainers era, with it bring plenty of memorable matches, including the 5-0 thrashing of rivals Man Utd at St James' Park, the high scoring thrillers against Liverpool and the famous 3-2 win over Barcelona in the Champions League.

That legendary night has been brought into the spotlight over the last few weeks due to the Oasis reunion and memories of the band playing in the city, as Tino Asprilla was scoring his hat track just up the road at St James' Park.
And Oasis aren't the only group of recognisable faces from the 90s who are getting back together, as several key members of the Entertainers squad from back in the day, are joining together on the same stage for an 'audience with' style show at the Tyne Theatre next year.
The event is sure to conjure memories of the players' times together in the past and one thing they'd definitely remember fondly are their nights at Uno's down the Quayside. The traditional Italian restaurant has been serving up hearty food to Geordies for decades now and one night during the 1995/6 season, teammates Warren Barton and Les Ferdinand had plans ty go out for quiet bite to eat, only to them be hijacked by other players, including the likes of Steve Watson, Rob Lee, Keith Gillespie and Darren Peacock.
That night set the heels in motion on a love affair between Uno's and Newcastle, with the same players and new faces that came in during the Entertainers era, all regularly heading for food and drinks there on a regular basis.
The current crop of United stars appear to have found their own favourite restaurant on the Quayside, with Tino Livramento and Anthony Gordon heading to Khai Khai to sample its much buzzed about curries.
