'I’m Still Alive!’ Queen Quips About Her Health After Britain’s Tumultuous Week

With last week’s EU Referendum result bringing market uncertainty, the resignation of the Prime Minister and mass resignations in Labour, it’s not been the easiest week for the country.

But if you thought the Queen is above reeling from the mess, then you’d be wrong as even she admitted to not having the best week of her life.

During an official visit to Hillsborough Castle in Belfast, Northern Ireland, Her Majesty was asked if she was well by Deputy Minister Martin McGuiness.

With brutal honesty, the Queen quipped: “I’m still alive, anyway!”

With David Cameron telling her he was quitting in the same year as she turned 90, she added: “There’s been a lot going on.

“I’ve had two birthdays so we’ve been quite busy.”

She’s in for a busier few months as well, what with a new Prime Minister, a possible General Election and seeing the country begin its lengthy exit from the European Union.

It’s probably not exactly what she had in mind for her 90th birthday…
