The 1% Club viewers were left baffled after instantly recognising one of the contestants who took part in the show on Saturday, May 25. As viewers tuned into the latest episode of the ITV quiz show they quickly spotted Big Brother UK finalist Yinrun Huang.

Picking her out of the crowd after she admitted she thought she'd do badly, presenter Lee Mack asked Yinrun why she had little faith in her abilities. "I'm so nervous because this is my first time on a television show," she admitted. The confession left many who'd watched her sail through to the Big Brother final in November last year scratching their heads.

Taking to the social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter, one viewer wrote: "Yinrun off Big Brother saying she’s not been on telly before???? Does she not recall being on BBUK??" while another added: "What's up with #Yinrun from #BigBrotherUK saying she’s not been on TV before #the1percentclub."

However, there's a simple explanation as Yinrun took to Instagram prior to The 1% Club airing to announce she would be appearing on the show and confirming it was filmed in early 2023, way before her Big Brother stint. Sharing snaps from the studio with her 170k followers, Yinrun wrote: "I’m on the 1% Club Tonight!!

"This was filmed at the start of 2023 so I’ve had to keep my participation a secret for so long! But it’s finally here and I can’t wait to watch it back!! (This is one of my favourite series). Thanks to the show for having me as a player, I had the best time and lots of laughs, plus Lee Mack is so charming."

The 1% Club's official social media account also shared the news, writing: "This Saturday will be the last episode of this current series. The episode was filmed quite a while ago. Anyone recognise one of the contestants playing here before she made her other TV appearance? We absolutely loved having her on the show - she was great fun!"

Sadly, Yinrun didn't get very far on the show after getting the second question wrong. "Yinrun's had a howler there," wrote one fan, while another added: "Gutted for Yinrun," and a third commented: "So I tuned in late and apparently missed Yinrun so that'll teach me."
