Fans of ITV’s Lorraine show might notice the programme looking a little different next week.

ITV has announced host Lorraine Kelly is taking a break from her hosting duties for a week as she enjoys a half term break. The channel also revealed Carol Vorderman will be filling in.

Carol will be covering for Lorraine from Monday 22 to Friday 26 October and Lorraine Kelly returns on Monday 29 October.

Speaking about her upcoming stint on Lorraine, Carol said: “It’s going to be an absolute joy. I’m going to have such a laugh. Lorraine is always smiling. You know as a viewer that the programme cares about you, it’s never nasty, but it’s entertaining and caring. I’m so looking forward to it.

“I will be the temporary caretaker for the deputy, who is Christine, for the boss – who is the one and only Lorraine Kelly,” she added.

As Carol points out, Christine Lampard often steps in for Lorraine when she’s off work but is currently on maternity leave.

Christine welcomed a baby girl named Patricia with husband Frank Lampard in September.

The news of Lorraine’s temporary replacement comes after it was announced that Rochelle Humes will step into Holly Willoughby’s This Morning shoes while she’s away in Australia.

Rochelle will present This Morning with Phillip Schofield while Holly co-hosts I’m A Celebrity with Declan Donnelly this autumn.

Lorraine airs weekdays at 8.30am on ITV.
