'All Star Musicals' will not return to ITV.

The theatrical competition - which was hosted by John Barrowman and featured a judging panel made up of industry legends Elaine Paige, Samantha Barks, and Trevor Dion-Nicholas - has aired as a series of one-off specials around Christmas and Easter since 2017 and seen the likes of 'Coronation Street' star Lucy Fallon and TV judge Rob Rinder crowned champion of the show after belting out classic musical numbers but ITV has now confirmed that there are no plans for further specials at present.

A spokesperson told The Sun newspaper's TVBiz Column: "There are no current plans for new 'All Star Musicals' specials at present but we wouldn't rule out further shows in the future."

John was a regular face on TV in the late 2000s when he helped Lord Andrew Lloyd Webber find an actress to play Maria in 'The Sound of Music' on BBC reality search 'How Do You Solve a Problem Like Maria?' before judging on its follow-ups 'Any Dream Will Do' and 'I'd Do Anything' and also had a starring role as Captain Jack Harkness on 'Doctor Who'.

Now, a TV insider has described the cancellation of 'All Star Musicals' as a "blow" for since John, especially since he left his long-running role as a judge on 'Dancing On Ice' in 2021.

The insider said: "This will obviously be a blow for John, particularly as it was a job he relished keeping after he left 'Dancing On Ice'. Barring any announcement of a secret, new TV venture, this represents his last role on a British TV show, which is a far cry from the days when he was on a variety of shows on various channels."
