Prepare for an explosive performance as young cheerleaders bid to wow Simon Cowell and his fellow Britain's Got Talent judges. Lady Grenades, based at St Augustine’s Sports Centre, in Coventry, will take part in the semi-final of the TV show on Tuesday, May 28.

The squad will run through their spectacular routine aiming to secure a place in the final and ultimately a spot at the Royal Variety Performance as overall winners. This will be decided by a public vote and the team is hoping that their home town can do its bit to push them over the line.

Leshay Bravo, team captain, said: "We are thrilled and honoured to perform on the legendary Britain's Got Talent Stage. "This is an incredible opportunity to showcase the athleticism of cheerleading. We hope to inspire other athletes and bring more recognition to this amazing sport in the UK."

Lady Grenades, whose members are aged 13 to 19, have already impressed on the prime time show once. Their their high energy stunts and team spirit saw them receive a 'yes' from each of the judges - also including Bruno Tonioli, Amanda Holden and Alesha Dixon - in the first round.

Simon told them: "The amount of work that went into that was absolutely brilliant." While Alesha said: "You guys came out here smiling, you were having so much fun, you didn't put a foot wrong. It was perfect."

And Bruno gushed: "Wow, wow, wow, what a performance. Doing this is extremely dangerous but you were going 12 feet high." The squad has made a habit of wowing judges this year - they finished third in the recent Cheerleading World Championships.
