ITV The Chase fans 'demand to see evidence' as contestant's age leaves them gobsmacked
Fans of The Chase couldn't believe what they were seeing as they were left stunned by a contestant's age. Host Bradley Walsh was back at the helm on Tuesday (January 14), along with four brand new players hoping to win big.
Contestants Sammie, Jane, Winston and Daniel were determined to secure a large sum of money but standing in their way was chaser Darragh 'The Menace' Ennis. But before the game got truly underway viewers were left distracted by player number two, Winston who is 62-years-old. Commenting on his youthful appearance viewers couldn't believe how young Winston looked for his age.
Fans flooded social media site X in droves, sharing their confusion. One viewer said, "No way is he 62. I demand to see evidence." Another viewer penned, "I'm the same age as Winston!! Yet he looks 40 years younger than me???"

A third wrote, "Winston looks so cool. Great style." A fourth shocked fan said, "Winston's 62 - sixty two??? He looks about 25!" Commenting on his performance, another viewer shared, "Winston looks fantastic for his age, but like Sammie, he was jammy AF! #TheChase."
During the show, the team got off to a rocky start, with Winston and Sammie both scraping their way into the final. Pointing out their mishaps, fans were quick to suggest that Darragh should have easily caught them both.
But it was player number three, Daniel, who caused the most chaos among viewers who shared their thoughts online. With his charming personality and good general knowledge, Daniel seemed to be the perfect candidate to enter the final round.
However, things took a devastating turn when faced with chaser Daragh as he failed to choose an answer in time, which resulted in him being eliminated from the game.
As things took a sorrowful turn, fans rushed to X to share their shock with one spectator commenting, "I always know when someone's going to run out of time. They clearly aren't even hovering over the button."
Another penned, "Running out of time is an unforgivable offence." "Gutted. Daniel was a top bloke, really wanted him to go through," a third fan said.
The Chase airs weekdays at 5pm on ITV1.
